TJ Natole

TJ Natole was born and raised outside of Utica, NY. He is a sporadic resident of Oneonta, NY when not blindly following his muse around the country. Between bouts of homelessness, trying not to trample the gardens of those around him, and stalling on his masters thesis (in linguistic anthropology), he writes and performs poetry. Since representing SUNY Oneonta twice at college poetry slam nationals (2003,2004), and helping run the Black Oak Tavern poetry slam that sent Oneonta poets to PSI nationals (2005-2007), he has made Oneonta his true home.

Smoking In Airplanes, his first book was released in November 2010, focused on the things that inspire him: Women, tattoos, cigarettes, spiritual development, and an unabashed cynicism towards hypocrisy.

TJ is currently working as an adjunct professor of anthropology at SUNY Oneonta, and continuing to work with poets at the collegiate and high school levels.
